Catznip is graphical client for Linden Lab's user created 3D virtual world, Second Life. Our aim is to refine and reinvent your in-world experience. Next Version : Catznip R9
Catznip R9 is mostly feature complete, there are a couple of little bits we really want to get in if we can. A selected few alpha testers are working with us to refine the new functionality while we polish up the user interface additions and fix any last minute big bugs. Beta testing will start soon and we hope to have a public pile on beta test period before we release the final finished product. The OSX version may be slightly delayed .. cross your fingers.
Catznip R9 will have materials, new particles and fitted mesh from Linden Lab.
The delays in launching are entirely down to adding CHUI from LL and doing a lot of clean up work only to find that it incurred a unacceptable drop in performance, a significant amount of time was lost trying to make it faster. In the end we reimplemented chat from scratch using a mixture of R8 and the best CHUI elements. The new chat interface is fast and tight with all the bells and whistles you expect (and maybe .. a few brand new ones).
